To make a very long story short, I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety and panic attacks along with depression. I had an appointment with a new physciatrist yesterday. I have been taking
Effexor XR 150mg in the morning. Also 2mg
xanax twice a day and 10mg
ambien for sleep. Well, this new shrink switched me from xanax (2mg, twice a day) to
Klonopin, .5 mg once a day. Switched my Effexor XR from 150mg once each morning to 75mg daily. Also discontinued my Ambien (10mg at bedtime) prescription. Is it just me or is this a drastic decrease in med's? Is Klonopin that much stronger than Xanax. So far the Klonopin (as prescribed is not touching my anxiety and I already had a panic attack this morning. What should I tell my new shrink? any advice would be helpful. Thank You!! K.T.
