Cherubino,
Lexapro withdrawals are slow going. Since january she is down from 20 to 12, She can only taper 1/2 Mg every three weeks and the withdrawals start in at day 7 to day 14, like clockwork.
I am noticing some bipolar symptoms/ mania for a few days during the withdrawal, highs with little need for sleep. Also a drastic cut in her need to eat with much naseau. Stomach bloating, gas and cramping are also there.
Next week will taper again from 12 to 11 1/2 but it seems the lower we go the more noticable the symptoms. We are getting her tested for hypoglycemia and am wondering about adrenal fatigue caused by the cortisol from the Lexapro. There is a 24 hour urine test to see what the levels of cortisol are..........Often Lexapro can cause CUSHING SYNDROME.
It is very slow going. She started Primal Defense which is said to help the digestion and stomach distress, started on one tablet,it's VERY expensive. She is taking Lecithin to help the muscle twitching and to prevent tardive dysconesia (I know that is spelled wrong but I am too tired to check the correct spelling tonight).I do notice a BIG improvement with the Omega 3 Fish Oil...........it seems to give her more energy.....possibly less depression may appear as more energy.
Thank you for asking. How is EVERYONE else doing............come on.........write a line or two so that we all can follow your progress.....................
Johnny Sceptic.............I often wonder if you actually did get lucky and get by with little Lexapro withdrawal..................or are you too down and out to report?
