I am also addicted to painkillers.
I have been taking them for over 5 years and I have developed an incredible tolerance.
It started with chronic back pain, which was treated with painkillers, and you probably know the rest. There have been times over the past 5 years that started to go through withdrawals and this is worse than any pain I have ever experienced (not to mention the long term side effects). I know I will have to pay the piper for what I have done to myself, but I simply cannot go through that again. Inpatient treatment is not an option either. I know the value of 12-Step groups and am willing to do whatever it takes, but I've got to get clean before first, and going through withdrawals is not an option. Isn't there a humane way to stop this insanity?
