zerit and Adriamycin Interactions

Interactions between zerit(stavudine) and Adriamycin (DOXOrubicin)

DOXOrubicin and stavudine (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: Doxorubicin has been shown to inhibit the phosphorylation of stavudine to its active triphosphate form in vitro. The clinical significance is unknown. However, the potential for diminished antiretroviral activity of stavudine should be considered.

MANAGEMENT: Monitoring for altered antiretroviral efficacy and HIV-RNA levels is advisable during concomitant administration.
