Interactions between zafirlukast and Aspergum orginal (aspirin)

Moderate Drug-Drug Interaction aspirin and zafirlukast (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: Aspirin may increase the plasma concentrations of zafirlukast. Coadministration of zafirlukast (40mg/day) and aspirin (650mg QID) has produced an approximately 45% increase in zafirlukast plasma concentrations. The mechanism and clinical significance are unknown.

MANAGEMENT: Patients receiving this combination should be observed for changes in the efficacy and safety of zafirlukast when aspirin is started, stopped, or changed in dosage. Zafirlukast dosage may need to be adjusted.
