Interactions between vibra-tabs(doxycycline) and Accupril (quinapril)

Moderate Drug-Drug Interaction doxycycline and quinapril (Moderate Drug-Drug)

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Administration of a tetracycline with quinapril may significantly decrease tetracycline serum concentrations. The proposed mechanism of action is chelation of tetracycline by the magnesium excipient in quinapril. Coadministration reduced tetracyline absorption by 28 to 37%.

MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer does not make a specific recommendation, but generally the administration of tetracyclines and magnesium-containing products should be separated by two to three hours.
