Interactions between transderm-nitro(nitroglycerin) and Amifostine (amifostine)

nitroglycerin and amifostine (Moderate Drug-Drug)

GENERALLY AVOID: Amifostine has been reported to produce hypotension in 62% of treated patients in one study. Concomitant administration with other agents causing hypotensive effects increases the potential for and severity of hypotension.

MANAGEMENT: Amifostine is not recommended for use in patients receiving hypotensive medications unless the other medication(s) can be stopped for 24 hours prior to amifostine treatment.
