Interactions between potassium-phosphate(potassium phosphate) and Prinivil (lisinopril)

Moderate Drug-Drug Interaction lisinopril and potassium phosphate (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: ACE inhibitors may decrease serum aldosterone concentrations. Hyperkalemia may result. When ACE inhibitors are coadministered with potassium-containing products, the risk of hyperkalemia is increased. Although this effect has been reported only with captopril, other ACE inhibitors may interact as well.

MANAGEMENT: Serum potassium and renal function should be monitored during coadministration. Patients should be advised to report any possible symptoms of hyperkalemia such as weakness, listlessness, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs to their physician.
