pentoxil and Cimetidine Interactions

Interactions between pentoxil(pentoxifylline) and Cimetidine (cimetidine)

cimetidine and pentoxifylline (Minor Drug-Drug)

One study has demonstrated a 22% decrease in pentoxifylline clearance during concurrent administration with cimetidine. The mechanism is presumably inhibition of pentoxifylline metabolism by cytochrome P-450. No special precautions are needed. Famotidine and nizatidine are not expected to decrease pentoxifylline metabolism.
