Interactions between lopid(gemfibrozil) and Cyclosporine (cycloSPORINE)

cycloSPORINE and gemfibrozil (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: Gemfibrozil when used concomitantly with cyclosporine may lead to decreased cyclosporine trough levels and subsequent reduction in effectiveness of the immunosuppressant. The mechanism of action is unknown.
MANAGEMENT: Monitoring of cyclosporine concentrations and clinically observing the patient for signs of organ rejection is recommended.
