Interactions between lopid(gemfibrozil) and Colestid flavored (colestipol)

gemfibrozil and colestipol (Moderate Drug-Drug)

ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Colestipol reduces gemfibrozil bioavailability. The mechanism is presumably direct adsorption of gemfibrozil to colestipol.

MANAGEMENT: If concomitant use is necessary, gemfibrozil should be taken at least two hours before or four hours after colestipol.
