Major Drug-Drug Interaction indomethacin and diflunisal (Major Drug-Drug)

GENERALLY AVOID: Concomitant administration of diflunisal may increase serum indomethacin concentrations two to threefold and increase the risk of toxicity such as gastrointestinal and CNS side effects. Fatal GI hemorrhage has been reported. The mechanism of this interaction is unknown, but may involve inhibition of indomethacin metabolism and renal excretion.

MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer recommends that this combination should be avoided.
