Moderate Drug-Drug Interaction ifosfamide and etoposide phosphate (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: Limited data have revealed evidence of significantly decreased etoposide (VP-16) clearance in the presence of ifosfamide. The mechanism is not known, but could be ifosfamide-induced renal dysfunction and a consequent decrease in the renal clearance of etoposide.

MANAGEMENT: Although more data are needed, it is recommended that the patient be monitored for etoposide side effects during coadministration, particularly in the presence of renal dysfunction.
