Interactions between diamox(acetaZOLAMIDE) and Clopine (clozapine)

Major Drug-Drug Interaction acetaZOLAMIDE and clozapine (Major Drug-Drug)

CONTRAINDICATED: One case report has suggested that combination of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (CAIs) and clozapine may increase the risk of neutropenia. The case involved methazolamide, and the authors speculate that acetazolamide may participate in this interaction as well.

MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer considers the concurrent use of clozapine contraindicated with drugs that are known to cause agranulocytosis or myelosuppression.
