Interactions between cycrin(medroxyPROGESTERone) and Accutane (isotretinoin)

medroxyPROGESTERone and isotretinoin (Major Drug-Drug)

CONTRAINDICATED: Microdosed progesterone preparations (minipills) may be an inadequate form of contraception during isotretinoin therapy.

MANAGEMENT: Due to the potential for serious fetal malformations, the use of progestin-only contraceptives is contraindicated during isotretinoin therapy. At least two methods of effective contraception are mandatory during isotretinoin therapy and for at least 1 month after discontinuing therapy.
