Applies to:Inderide (hydrochlorothiazide/propranolol) and Corlopam (fenoldopam)
GENERALLY AVOID: The use of fenoldopam in combination with antihypertensive agents has not been studied. However, these combinations would theoretically significantly increase the risk of severe symptomatic hypotension.
MANAGEMENT: The manufacturer recommends that fenoldopam not be used with beta-blockers due to inhibition of the heart rate reflex response to fenoldopam-induced hypotension.
hydrochlorothiazide ↔ fenoldopam
Applies to:Inderide (hydrochlorothiazide/propranolol) and Corlopam (fenoldopam)
MONITOR: The use of fenoldopam with other hypotensive agents has not been studied. However, these combinations would theoretically increase the risk of severe symptomatic hypotension.
MANAGEMENT: Caution is strongly advised during concurrent use. Inpatient monitoring of the heart rate and blood pressure is recommended. Sublingual nitroglycerin has been used safely with fenoldopam.
