Interactions between bacampicillin and Atenolol (atenolol)

atenolol and bacampicillin (Moderate Drug-Drug)

MONITOR: Ampicillin may reduce serum atenolol concentrations by reducing gastrointestinal absorption of atenolol. This interaction appears to be more significant when administering higher doses of ampicillin (more than 1 g/dose).

MANAGEMENT: Blood pressure and clinical monitoring for subtherapeutic beta blocker response is recommended, especially with concomitant high doses of ampicillin. Increases in the atenolol dosage may be necessary if evidence of an interaction is observed.
