MANAGEMENT: Allopurinol should only be used with ACE inhibitors if benefit outweighs risk. If these agents must be administered together, monitor for hypersensitivity reactions and discontinue therapy if needed. Patients should be advised to seek medical help if they develop dyspnea, throat constriction, swelling or hives of the face, lips, or tongue, urticaria, rash, fever, arthralgia, or myalgia.
