Usual Adult Dose for Cystitis
100 mg orally 3 times a day, taken with water at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

Caution should be exercised when using pentosan polysulfate sodium in patients with hepatic insufficiency.
Dose Adjustments
Therapy assessment should be conducted at the end of 3 months of treatment. Therapy may be continued for another 3 months if no improvement was achieved and if limited adverse effects are not present.
Precautions
Safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients less than 16 years of age.
