Usual Adult Dose for Osteoarthritis
50 mg orally 4 times a day or 100 mg orally 3 times a day.
The largest recommended single dose is 100 mg.
Doses greater than 300 mg/day are not recommended.
Usual Adult Dose for Rheumatoid Arthritis
50 mg orally 4 times a day or 100 mg orally 3 times a day.
The largest recommended single dose is 100 mg.
Doses greater than 300 mg/day are not recommended.
Usual Adult Dose for Pain
50 mg orally every 6 to 8 hours as needed for pain relief. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 300 mg.
Usual Adult Dose for Dysmenorrhea
50 mg orally 4 times a day.
Renal Dose Adjustments
A lower dosage may be required in patients with significantly impaired renal function.
Liver Dose Adjustments
A lower dosage may be required in patients with hepatic disease.

Tailor the dose to each patient according to severity of symptoms and response to therapy.
Precautions
Safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients (less than 18 years of age).
Dialysis
Clearance is not significantly increased in patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
Other Comments
Flurbiprofen is preferably to be taken with food. If no improvement is seen within 2 to 4 weeks of therapy, an alternative NSAID should be considered.
