Definition: A pigmentary anomaly of blacks, characterized by red or yellow-red hair color, copper-red skin, and often by dilution of iris pigment; autosomal recessive inheritance caused by mutation in the tyrosinase-related protein 1gene (TYRP1) on chromosome 9.
