Wolinella
Pronunciation: wō′li-nel′ă
Definition: Genus of gram-negative, microaerophilic bacteria with helical to curved cells; exhibits motility by a single polar flagellum. Isolated from the gingival sulcus and from root canal infections in humans, and from the bovine rumen. Type species is Wolinella succinogenes.
