Definition: a cell that has been genetically changed to a tumor cell, the change being subsequently transmitted to all descendent cells; cells transformed by oncogenic RNA viruses continue to produce virus in high concentration without being killed; DNA tumor virus-transformed cells develop (along with other changes) tumor-associated antigens and rarely produce virus.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
