vincristine sulfate
Pronunciation: vin-kris′tēn sŭl′fāt
Definition: A dimeric alkaloid obtained from Vinca rosea; its antineoplastic activity is similar to that of vinblastine, but no cross-resistance develops between these two agents, so it is more useful than vinblastine in lymphocytic lymphosarcoma and acute leukemia.
