Definition: a nonmammalian hydro-lyase condensing l-serine indole-3-glycerol phosphate to produce l-tryptophan and glyceraldehyde phosphate; pyridoxal phosphate is required; it will also react l-serine with indole.
Synonym(s): tryptophan desmolase, tryptophan synthetase
