Pronunciation: tan′i-sīt
Definition: A variety of ependymal cell found principally in the walls of the third ventricle of the brain; the tanycytes may have branched or unbranched processes, some of which end on capillaries or neurons.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
