superficial perineal pouch

 

Definition: the space bounded superiorly by the perineal membrane (formerly the inferior fascia of the now obsolete urogenital diaphragm) and inferiorly by the superficial perineal (Colles) fascia; it contains the root structure of the penis or clitoris and associated musculature, plus the superficial transverse perineal muscle and, in the female only, the greater vestibular glands.
