somatic nerve fibers
Definition: afferent or efferent fibers distributed outside the body cavities, i.e., to the parietes; most somatic afferent fibers conduct impulses centrally stimulating conscious sensation; all somatic efferent fibers stimulate somatic (voluntary/striated/skeletal) muscle.
