septum of pharyngotympanic (auditory) tube
Definition: a thin horizontal plate of bone forming two semicanals, the upper, smaller, for the tensor tympani muscle, and the lower, larger for the pharyngotympanic (auditory) tube; its termination in the middle ear is the processus cochleariformis.
