Definition: a fatty acid, the carbon chain of which contains no ethylenic or other unsaturated linkages between carbon atoms (stearic acid and palmitic acid); called saturated because it is incapable of absorbing any more hydrogen.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
