S-nitrosohemoglobin

Pronunciation: nī-trō′sō-hē′mō-glō′bin
A compound formed by the binding of nitric oxide with hemoglobin; release and uptake of the nitric oxide group produce changes in vascular resistance and blood flow, which assist in oxygen homeostasis.
