Definition: the endodermal diverticulum from the floor of the caudal end of the primordial pharynx; it gives rise to the epithelium and glands of the bronchial tree. After this diverticulum separates from the foregut, it is referred to as a tube.
Synonym(s): laryngotracheal diverticulum, respiratory primordium
