Definition: a stain for glycoproteins, used in electron microscopy, with which ultrathin tissue sections reveal complex carbohydrates in the same locations as shown by Rambourg periodic acid-chromic methenamine-silver stain.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
