Definition: an enzyme of liver peroxisomes that uses molecular oxygen to oxidize spermine to spermidine and spermidine to putrescine, in both cases also producing H2O2 and β-aminopropionaldehyde; a part of the catabolic pathway of polyamines.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
