Plesiomonas shigelloides
Definition: species that is an enteric pathogen and an etiologic agent of various extraintestinal infections transmitted to humans in contaminated food or water or as a colonizer of various animals. This is the only species in the genus and has also been referred to as Pseudomonas s., Aeromonas s., C57, and Vibrio s.
