Pronunciation: pit
Definition: A nuclear binding transcriptional factor found in many cells in normal human pituitary glands and expressed in a large percentage of pituitary adenomas, in particular those positive for growth hormone, or thyrotropin.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
