Pronunciation: per′i-sig′moy-dī′tis
Definition: Inflammation of the connective tissues surrounding the sigmoid flexure, giving rise to symptoms, referable to the left iliac fossa, similar to those of perityphlitis in the right iliac fossa.
Synonym(s): pericolitis sinistra
