Definition: the two longitudinal ridges, anterior and posterior, in the mucous membrane lining the cervix uteri, from which numerous secondary folds, or rugae, branch off.
Synonym(s): plicae palmatae canalis cervicis uteriTA, arbor vitae uteri, lyra uterina
