Definition: destructive joint disease caused by diminished proprioceptive sensation, with gradual destruction of the joint by repeated subliminal injury, commonly associated with tabes dorsalis, diabetic neuropathy, or syringomyelia.
Synonym(s): Charcot arthropathy, Charcot joint, neuropathic arthropathy
