Pronunciation: lī′sō-fos′fă-tid′ik as′id
Definition: A phosphatidic acid in which only one of the two hydroxyl groups of the glycerophosphate is esterified; most commonly, when carbon-1 of the glycerol moiety is esterified (1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate).
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
