lumbar segments of spinal cord L1–5
Definition: the five segments of the spinal cord that give rise to the five pairs of lumbar spinal nerves [L1–L5] and constitute the lumbar part of the spinal cord, that in the adult, lies within the portion of the vertebral canal formed by the T11–L1 vertebrae.
