Definition: an experimental means of ventilating lungs suffering from severe injury, through use of O2 and CO2 dissolved in perfluorocarbons in a liquid, thus (theoretically) decreasing the incidence of atelectasis and other problems.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
