Pronunciation: lūk′ă-fĕ-rē′sis
Definition: A procedure, analogous to plasmapheresis, in which leukocytes are removed from the withdrawn blood and the remainder of the blood is retransfused into the donor.
[leuko- + G. aphairesis, a withdrawal]
