lepromatous leprosy

 

Definition: a form of leprosy in which nodular cutaneous lesions are infiltrated, have ill-defined borders, and are bacteriologically positive; the lepromin test is negative, the immunologic mechanism of the patient is not responsive to the Mycobacterium leprae infection.
