Definition: a chromosome (often anomalous) that is shown, by incorporation of a labeled nucleotide, to undergo delayed duplication preliminary to mitosis; formerly used as a means of distinguishing members of a group of chromosomes.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
