Pronunciation: lă-ring′gō-strō′bō-skōp, -strob′ō-skōp
Definition: Apparatus for observing the motion of the vocal folds during phonation with intermittent illumination. As the frequency of illumination approaches the frequency of opening and closing of the vocal cords, they appear to be still.
