joints of pectoral girdle
Definition: the joints uniting the scapulae and clavicles to each other and the latter to the sternum, forming the superior limb girdle; these are the acromioclavicular and the sternoclavicular joints; also included are the syndesmoses of the pectoral girdle, the cavacranial and superior (and variable inferior) transverse scapular ligaments.
