Pronunciation: ī-sos′thē-nyū′rē-ă, ī′sō-sthē-
Definition: A state in chronic renal disease in which the kidney cannot form urine with a higher or a lower specific gravity than that of protein-free plasma; specific gravity of the urine becomes fixed around 1.010, irrespective of the fluid intake.
