Definition: a sweetened liquid medicinal preparation containing powdered ipecac extract, which contains the alkaloids emetine and cephaline; used as an emetic in some cases of poisoning and (at lower doses) as an expectorant.
Examples: glitazone, GI cocktail, etc.
