Definition: an isolated segment of ileum serving as a substitution for the urinary bladder, into which ureters can be implanted, the lumen of which is connected to the skin; used following total cystectomy or other loss of normal bladder function requiring supravesical diversion.
Synonym(s): ileal bladder
